Buying a new boiler is often an expensive and complicated process.
You need to consider the type of boiler you need, i.e. the size and power, the brand of boiler you want and other things like filters and extras that'll help improve the performance of your boiler.
Luckily we'll give you a hand with everything when we come round to visit, but to give you a heads up, here's some of the things you need to consider when you install a new boiler:
The cost of a new boiler
We thought we'd get this out of the way first.
New boiler installations are not a cheap investment and you probably already know that.
New boilers can cost anywhere from £2000-£3500, but this price can vary depending on the size, brand and other extras that you install with your new boiler.
Which type of boiler you need to install
When you install a new boiler, you'll need to consider which type of boiler is best for your home.
The three most popular types of boiler that are installed in the UK are:
- Conventional boilers - these use a storage tank and water cylinder so you can store hot water for later use
- System boilers - these are similar to regular boilers, but more components are build in which makes them easier to install
- Combi boilers - these heat water directly from the mains as and when you need it
If you live in a small home with one bathroom, a combi boiler will more than likely be perfect.
If you live in a large home with multiple bathrooms and multiple people, then you might be best going for a conventional or a system boiler.
We appreciate that there's a lot more that goes into choosing a type of boiler, so we're more than happy to discuss then we come round to visit.
The brand of boiler
Choosing a brand of boiler is very important.
If you choose a brand that's unreliable and has poor customer service, you're obviously going to regret your decision.
We only install brands of boiler that we know make reliable boilers and will stand the test of time in your for years to come.
Some popular brands of boiler include, but are not limited to:
- Worcester Bosch
- Baxi
- Viessmann
- Vaillant
- ATAG
As we mentioned, we're more than happy to discuss popular boilers with you when you come round to installing your new boiler.
Other considerations
A couple of other things you need to consider might be:
- Size of boiler
- Extended warranty available
- Location of boiler (although this will be somewhere limited depending on the size of your house)
